We previously provided a recap of eClinicalWorks advancements, particularly in the area of A.I., being introduced in V12.0.3. That was part one of the story. There is also a vast slate of new billing features, designed to help with usability and ultimately to help you get paid faster for your services. Let’s take a closer look!
AI Automation
Traditional RCM relies on human oversight and manual workflows, leading to inefficiencies, revenue loss, and excessive denials. Agentic AI for RCM uses autonomous agents to reduce administrative burdens, accelerate cash flow, and minimize errors throughout your operations.
The combination of AI with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) through Automated Playlists can further reduce redundant tasks with your RCM team. The RPA allows you to build multi-screen navigation process to significantly reduce the time spent on repetitive, manual tasks, enhancing efficiency, and easing staff onboarding.
Eligibility Insights
New features are designed to put key information at your fingertips and reduce the amount of searching required:
- Speed up check-in with hyperlinks to corresponding eligibility tabs
- Gain quick access to information with summary “bubbles” of benefits provided
- Quickly learn if the patient has a Medicare Advantage program with AI Assistant
Progress Notes Insights
A feature that is coming soon, progress notes insights:
- Provide efficient, accurate coding recommendations to the provider
- Automatically drops the proper code into the notes
- Shortens revenue time with greater coding accuracy
Claims Lookup
The new claims assistant allows the user to verbally search or type search criteria. Expanded capabilities include:
- Search by CPT and ICD code
- Search outside visible filters
These features allow greater access to data without having to run a report which may, or may not, exist in eBO.
Account Lookup, Refunds and Payments Assistants
Similar to other features powered by AI, these assistants allow the user to:
- Say or type your search criteria
- Access additional conditions
- Search capabilities outside available filters
EOB to ERA Option
Additional functionality in the ERA window allows the EOB to be imported and converted into your eClinicalWorks. This is possible through an AI Assistant which uploads the PDF to eCW and converts the 835 file. Advantages include:
- Eliminate manually posting of EOBs
- Automated functionality within eCW as opposed to a third-party vendor
Rule Assistant Engine
Want to make a rule in your eCW but you’re not sure where to start? The rule engine can help. Through this tool, you can:
- Tell the system what you’re looking to build a rule for
- Receive a recommendation on how to build it
Other V12.0.3 Enhancements to Boost Efficiency
In addition to AI features, there are several time-saving enhancements to help improve your revenue cycle management:
- Bank Reconciliation via PLAID platform: This soon-to-be-released feature will allow eClinicalWorks to interface securely with your bank account, logging payments to eCW and marking them as “ready to post.”
- ANSI Viewer Enhancements: Eliminates the need to generate a batch to view the electronic data file for a claim.
- Enhanced CAS Code Configurations: Allows for the use of Remittance Advice Remark Codes (RARCs) in conjunction with Claim Adjustment Reason Codes (CARCs) to automate how these codes post during the Electronic Remittance Advice ePosting.
- Work Queue Claims Dashboard Enhancements: Include expanded filtering options in the work queues, including filter by visit type, provider, claim status and more, and condensed billing function into one drop-down.
