Ero Health News | December 2023

This past quarter has been full of activities, and we’ve been excited to see so many of you at recent events! From the CHI and FOM/IT shows to the Ero Health First Night Reception and the eClinicalWorks National Conference, it’s been great to share how our eCW services can help your practice achieve your goals through optimized, efficient use of the system.

These last few months have also been a time of transition as many practices are upgrading to V12 and considering which features are best suited to implement. We’ve supported a number of practices on this journey, and the work continues as new features such as AI are rolled out. Regardless, it’s imperative for every practice to have good workflows and a solid understanding of the benefits of V12 and V12.2 Plus as they consider the upgrade.

The Ero Health team offers services to help you make the most of the version you currently have in place, and make recommendations for how to best leverage V12. We look forward to serving you! Please contact us on our website or by phone at (866) 493-0952 to schedule your discovery and assessment. We look forward to hearing from you soon and supporting your eClinicalWorks journey.

Recap of First Night and eClinicalWorks National Conference

The 2023 First Night Reception at the eClinicalWorks National Conference in Nashville was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out for an evening of line dancing, cowboy hats, boots, country music, and fun with your peers from around the country. First Night is always a great way to kick off the conference each year, so we’ll be doing it again next year at the Gaylord in Dallas!

eClinicalWorks had some great updates to share at the conference, specifically for new features coming in V12. Most notably, eCW announced that V12.02, would be released on December 15, 2024. This next release will be focused on speed and efficiency, leveraging features such as the RPA AI Powered Playlist, EHR enhancements for progress notes, message management, dynamic forms, placing Gare Gaps identified through PRISMA, capabilities to customize the Right Chart Panel, and better management of unstructured legacy data. In terms of medications, there will be a new option to search for pharmacies by cross street and notifications that will show that a prescription will fail due to missing fields, as well as a renewal insights panel. Population health enhancements include a clinical rules engine and a to-do list for pre-visit planning.

AI certainly was the hot topic of the keynote, with several AI features planned for a release scheduled for January 15, 2024. AI features will include a ChatGPT-like solution which will serve as an AI Assistant in various areas of the application, including message responses, navigating settings, setting working hours, resource scheduling, and serving as a registry assistant. AI will also be built into the Progress Notes, intended to assist with querying the data, creating a highlight summary of the patient’s records, and record procedures performed to address the patient’s illness. Several HEALOW enhancements were also shared, which included access to check-in data and ability to auto import, actionable registration rule engine, and an AI assistant to read insurance data.

eCW will be introducing Sunoh, an AI-powered ambient listening technology for clinical documentation. It translates conversations between providers and patients into clinical documentation and visit notes, and will help accelerate EHR documentation.

eCW has even more AI functionality to reshape workflows, enhance office efficiency, and improve patient satisfaction. They are:

  • AI technology to help predict potential no-shows can maximize time spent with patients
  • The integration of ChatGPT and Generative AI streamline manual workflows
  • AI assistance for managing inbound faxes can free up your staff to focus on patient care
  • AI for RPA – Automated Playlists allow a more seamless onboarding for your staff
  • Close Gaps in Care with AI and PRISMA as your data is analyzed instantly

There are also several billing enhancements designed for efficiency. The floating tool bar, which now provides quick access to claims, documents, billing alerts, referrals, and more, mean that you no longer have to leave the claim window to access relevant patient information. The encounter review also provides easy access to information such as documents, demographics and referrals.

Those are just some of the highlights from the keynote.

A great deal was shared, and it may seem overwhelming. You may be asking:

  • What features should I implement?
  • How will it impact my practice?
  • What will it cost and will there be an ROI on the investment?
  • Am I using my current version of eClinicalWorks to its best potential for my practice?

Those are all great questions – questions that we at Ero Health can help you answer. We can step in wherever you are in the journey to ensure that the eClinicalWorks solution you’ve implemented is doing the best it can for your business, your providers, your front office staff, and ultimately, your patients. Let us help you optimize your eClinicalWorks and make the right choices for your V12 upgrade.

Is Credentialing a Challenge for Your Practice?

Is it time to earn or renew credentials? Recent data shows that closed panels are on the rise, and it’s been said that payer credentialing can cost a physician up to $6,600 per day! The time-consuming credentialing process gets even more complicated when closed panels come into play. How can physicians gain access when denied enrollment and ensure revenue?

Upcoming Events

We’re looking forward to the Health Center Summit at the Westin Boston Seaport, May 8-10, 2024. Will we see you there? If you haven’t already registered for the event, you can do so here.

Hosting Services Available from Ero Health

Is your eCW database on-premise or hosted with an independent third party? Have you had outages recently or interruptions in your services from that third party hosting? Is your on-prem environment prepared to upgrade to the new AI features in V12 Plus?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, schedule a meeting with the Ero Health hosting center team to discuss alternatives to your current situation as you plan for 2024. Avoid interruptions in service from third parties or the new expenses to scale your on-prem environment.

Our data centers offer clients the flexibility and peace of mind they need to feel confident their data is secure and fully redundant. The data centers are SSAE16, SOC 2 Type II & SOC 3 certified, as well as HIPAA and PCI compliant. We offer:

  • HITRUST Risk Based Certification (r2)
